Message From the Principal

What a great start to the school year!  The students and staff members have been reviewing classroom procedures and the expectations that come along with being part of the Desert Willow family.  Students have been working hard to fill their character cards and earn tickets for their positive behavior choices.
Thank you to all of the families who came to our Open House – it was great to see everyone visiting classrooms and learning about the education and supports we provide our students. We will continue to communicate with families by sending home a monthly newsletter, the Wolf Pack Press.  This will contain important information and dates to keep in mind. You may also follow us on Facebook at @DesertWillowCGESD.
Calling all Grandparents – please come and join your Desert Willow student for lunch on September 13th – we will be celebrating with a special meal prepared by Mrs. Wall and our Café staff. There will also be activated in our Media Center for students who are accompanied by their grandparents. We are excited about all the moments that will be captured at this special event.
Each year, we would like to remind our families to be aware of our safety practices for drop off and pick up.  Students should be dropped off and picked up using the parent pick up loop, not in our parking lot.  Please be sure to use sidewalks,   crosswalks, and model this for our students.  Students should not be dropped off prior to 7:15, to ensure they have adequate supervision.  Thank you for being our partners in education – at Desert Willow, we are truly united in our dedication to strive for our personal best each day!
